The Council provides funding and support to the ten (10) Greene County senior centers and the primary focus of these centers is to promote quality of life. Each center is unique, but most of the activities and programs offered can be tied to wellness.
The Council maintains resource materials covering a number of wellness topics. A variety of wellness programs are presented throughout the year, including the Healthy U workshops for diabetes, chronic illness, and pain. Other programs offered include Memory Loss, Dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease, Communicating with your Health Care Professionals, Downsizing, Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Exercising with Parkinson’s, Dancing with Parkinson’s, and a variety of Brain Fitness programs.
